An Empirical Study On The Prevention Of Juvenile Delinquency

Juveniles not only shoulder the task of building the country, but also are the future and hope of the country. It’s of great importance to prevent of juvenile delinquency and create a beneficial environment for the growth and development of juveniles. Strengthening and improving the rule of law education of minors matters to the future of the country, the rise and fall of the nation and the overall situation of running the country lawfully and building the law ruling socialist country. However, with the rapid development of economy, some social problems are followed, including the problem of juvenile delinquency. In recent years, juvenile delinquency unfolds such a phenomena which is of large number, whole types, cruel means and vile natures etc.. That should be highly valued by the whole society.This paper analyzes the features and causes of juvenile delinquency and explores the specific measures for the prevention of juvenile delinquency, from a country-level city perspective and using the method of field investigation.This paper is divided into three chapters. In the first chapter, I define three related concepts of juvenile, delinquency and juvenile delinquency, and introduce the researched city’s economic and natural conditions. Organizing several sets of collecting data and making it into a chart, I conclude eight characteristics of the city’s juvenile delinquency, that there is a large number of male criminals, joint crimes, abrupt intentions, idle criminals, disapprobatory criminals, non-custodial penalty, low-education-background criminals and single-parent criminals. In the second chapter, according to the characteristics of the city’s juvenile delinquency, I analyze the causes of juvenile delinquency from objective and subjective aspects. The subjective aspect includes the physiological, psychological, ideological and cultural aspects. And the objective aspect includes family, school, society and insufficient community correction factors. In the third chapter, according to the characteristics and the causes of the city’s juvenile delinquency, I put forward concrete measures of preventing or reducing juvenile delinquency, including emphasizing on family education, improving the methods of school education and teaching mode, creating a fine social environment and perfecting the community correction etc.
