Due to the increasingly rapid process of industrialization and urbanization, a large number of young adults from rural areas went to big cities or urban areas for working. Then the number of “empty-nesters families” increased in rural areas. The vulnerable group of "Empty Nesters", which appeared in modern society, is still growing in an incredible speed.Lacking of daily care and emotional communication, "Empty Nesters" produced mental depression and loneliness which are hard to relieve. In rural areas, some "Empty Nesters" even had to take care of their parents or their grandchildren. With the whole family burden on them, they suffered from heavy economic and life stress. For those who had lower quality of family care, there are more demands for daily care, medical attention, and mental comfort and so on. Therefore, under the existing social conditions, in order to explore the diverse demand of "Empty Nesters", whether they can get satisfied are the issues that social work methods should be involved. Getting the "Empty Nesters" supported from all walks and enjoying happy and peaceful later years are not only the issues in China that should be paid much attention to, but also the problems that needs to be solved as soon as possible as the emphasis of the rural elderly social work in the process of Chinese aging society.Under this background, by using literatures, questionnaires, and structured interviews,the author studied the "Empty Nesters" in village B in Yangquan City, Shanxi Province as the research object, to study their existing diverse demands in daily life, and requested social work.This paper is divided into five parts. The first part is Introduction, which is the opening of this study, designed to focus on the topic of the diverse demands of "Empty Nesters” and to introduce the research background, purpose, significance, literature review, theoretical basis and research method and so on; In the second part, questionnaires and interviews are used to help understand the basic conditions of local "Empty Nesters"; In the third part, under the guide of social ecosystem theory, the theories of biological system needs, psychological needs,social system needs are used as interview or survey to analyze the diverse demands of local"Empty Nesters"; In the fourth part, it is mainly focused on the group of confused seniors or individual cases to analyze and evaluate their current satisfaction level, and set up social work intervention through team service and case counseling approach; The fifth part put forward reflection and suggestion through case analysis. Starting with the summary of the previous research results, and the insufficient parts of this study on the basis of the summary are reflected. From the perspective of social work, pertinence countermeasures and suggestions are given, and suggestions of service system and social work intervention model are made to meet their diversified needs.
