Research On The Living Conditions Of The Old Migrant Workers

China’s urban construction has been developing rapidly since the 90’s of last century. And at the same time, the number of rural migrant workers is also growing. With the passage of time, a number of migrant workers have entered the old age and are developing into a special kind of labor group, namely old migrant workers. Under the dual influence of population age structure change and economic development in our country, the number of old migrant workers is increasing rapidly, which becomes the new normal phenomenon of China’s economic development. Along with the gradual disappearance of the demographic dividend, recruitment difficulties and labor shortage phenomenon gradually appear in some industries (such as construction). And the existence of the old migrant workers delays the time of large-scale labor shortage in China’s economic development, which makes an indelible contribution to the development of our country’s economy.According to data released by the National Bureau of statistics, the scale of migrant workers over the age of 50 showed a trend of increasing from 2010 to 2014, in 2014 the age of the old migrant workers reached 46 million 850 thousand people, just 5 years the old migrant workers increased by 15 million 600 thousand people. Overall, the total amount of the old peasant workers is increasing year by year. A huge number of the old migrant workers made a great contribution to the construction of city, but in reality, their social status and professional identity are break away from each other, this make them become the person of the edge of city. The old migrant worker sunder the pressure of survival to work in the city year by year, because of their old age. low educated degree, they face the grim situation in employment, social security, social integration.This article uses the method of system research, trying to show the living condition of the migrant workers thoroughly from the social and economic life, social security and social integration. The research content of this article is to analyze the living predicament of the old migrant workers and its influencing factors, based on this, we put forward the Suggestions to improve living condition of the old migrant workers. From the study, we find that the older workers have more survival problems than the migrant workers, because their old age, their survival problem include serious employment discrimination, big pension and medical risk, onerous family stress, poor physical condition, deficient spiritual and cultural life,this five problems make the life of migrant workers harder. In order to improve the living conditions of old migrant workers, and share the fruits of reform development together, we put forward suggestions for the following from five aspects:the first is to make full use of the migrant workers; the second is to perfect the social support system of the old workers; the third is to pay attention to the old migrant workers’ family and their children’s education; the forth is to set up the health support system for the old migrant workers;the fifth is to build up a harmonious, plural, tolerant social and culture atmosphere.
