Research On The Relationship Between Endowment Insurance And Elder Well-being

Due to the increasing aging, it is more and more important for our society to improve life experience and happiness of the senior, and it is also of great necessity to deepen the reform on endowment insurance to satisfy the elders’living demands and improve quality of life. This research uses the data of 2012 of Chinese General Social Survey (CGSS) and analyzes the relationship between endowment insurance and subjective well-being of the elderly and influencing factors of that, in order to bring forward some suggestions to reform and perfect endowment insurance system to effectively promote the subjective well-being of the elderly. Research findings are as follows. First, endowment insurance has a significant effect on elder well-being. Second, the relationship between endowment insurance and elder well-being is influenced by age, dwelling condition and professional types before retirement of the elderly. Third, the impact of endowment insurance on elder well-being forms distinct gaps in urban and rural areas and different regions.Chapter one is the introduction part. In this part, the research background, research significance and the related research status at home and abroad are expressed firstly. Then the research ideas and methods are introduced. Lastly the emphasis, difficulties and innovations of the research are explained.Chapter Two:In this part, three core concepts—the elderly, endowment insurance and elder well-being—are primarily defined. Following is the theoretical bases, such as Theory of Practical Ability and the Equalization of Public Service Theory, in order to provide theoretical bases for the research assumptions and suggestions. At last, the research hypotheses are introduced.Chapter Three:The primary aim of this part is to analyze the relationship between endowment insurance and elder well-being and the influencing factors of the relationship and verify the research hypotheses. Concrete contents are as follows. First is to compare the well-being between two kinds of the senior who attend endowment insurance or not. Second is the impact of age, living conditions and professional types before retiring on the relationship. Lastly is the difference between urban and rural areas and the differences between different regions of the relation.Chapter Four:The main content of this part is to introduce research conclusion, shortage and prospects, and to put forward suggestions according to this research. The proposal calls to expand coverage rate of endowment insurance to improve elder well-being, improve coverage rate and standard of endowment insurance of the senior and the single, deepen equalization reform of endowment insurance level across all industries so as to narrow the well-being gap between different industries, promote integrative development of endowment insurance between urban and rural areas in order to narrow urban-rural gap of elder well-being, and gradually realize national co-ordination of endowment insurance so as to narrow regional gap of elder well-being.
