Study On The Mechanism Of “the Interaction Among The Community, Social Workers And Social Organization” Of Dagongyuan Community In Suzhou

Since 1990 s, the reform experiment of community management system has been conducted in our country. The community has become the especially important part of urban grass-root society as more and more “unit individual” transited to the “social individual”. With the speeding up of urbanization process, the demand of city residents is becoming more and more diversified and complicated. The government, the former only main body of the community governs has begun to develop in the direction of diversification in the help of social organizations and community residents. To mobilize all positive factors to contribute to community governance, Gusu District of Suzhou has actively explored the community governance, and put forward “the interaction among the community, social workers and social organization” on the basis of “the interaction between the government and society”. “The interaction among the community, social workers and social organization” refers to the mechanism that is being dominated by community Communist Party, aimed at the community management and active participation of the community residents with the platform of specific operation of community residents’ committees, to take advantage of social organizations, through project service, supported by social workers, and with public participation in monitoring and evaluation.This paper, through the analysis of “the interaction among the community, social workers and social organization” pilot project in Dagongyuan community in Shuangta Sub-district of Gusu District of Suzhou city, is aimed to analyze the achieved results, existing problems and their causes, and to put forward the path and the methods to perfect “the interaction among the community, social workers and social organization” mechanism and democracy at the grass-roots level.
