The Research Of Present Situation, Problems And Strategies For Wuxi Preventive Medicine Association

Wuxi Preventive Medicine Association( WPMA) is an academic group constituted by professionals from the field of preventive medicine. As a third sector, it has played a role in developing the science and technology, popularizing knowledge and training professionals of preventive medicine.However, WPMA is facing a lot of difficulties during its further development. First, there are few related laws or rules, which can support the existence and development of the third sectors. Second, Wuxi Health Bureau and Wuxi Center for Disease Control always overstep their authority when they are handling the issues about WPMA. Third, missing of supervision from Wuxi Association for Science and Technology and Jiangsu Preventive Medicine Association made WPMA may ignore its own responsibilities. Forth, WPMA is short of professional working staff and fund, so it has to depend on other institutions when it is carrying out academic activities instead of by itself. Last, the working staffs misunderstand the relation between the third sectors and the administrative departments. All of these problems have been straggled the further development of WPMA.This essay starts from the description of WPMA’s current situation, then discusses the causes of the difficulties above as well as corresponding strategies, which will make WPMA have a more healthy and excellent future.
