The history of the world economic development shows that small and medium-sized enterprise(SME) is an principal part of the economic. For the past 30 years, SMEs in Shenzhen have expanded rapidly. Currently, there are over 627,000 SMEs in Shenzhen, covering 99.6% Shenzhen enterprises. SME has become an critical power to support technological innovation. They also help much in releasing employment pressure, making the residents’ income big.In recent years, Shenzhen pay high attention to SMEs’ development. The SMEs have been developed fast. However, in recent years, due to the world economic getting worse, the SMEs have encountered series of problems. Lots of the small and medium-sized enterprises’ survival status is worrying due to the complex domestic and aboard factors, such as the financial crisi. Therefore, it’s the Shenzhen government’s responsibility to create a favorable environment for the SMEs, and guide the SMEs to improve their product’s quality and competitiveness.Therefore, this thesis is basing on the extensive investigation of the SMEs in Shenzhen city, discussing the basic situation and the effects of the Shenzhen government’s policy for supporting the SMEs, learning from the advanced policies of the other district supporting the SMEs, analyzing the problems existing in the SMEs of Shenzhen and proposing some countermeas ures and suggestions.
