The progress of society and the introduction of advanced ideas create the development of social work in mainland China with gratifying results. As one of the components in social work, social work for the disabled increasingly attracts the extensive attention from the media and the public in recent years. In order to understand the real situation of the training and to accept service of people with intellectual disabilities, the author makes field investigations on learning and living conditions with intellectual disabilities into the mentally disabled service institutions. This paper takes adult intellectual disabilities as the research object. Adult intellectual disabilities social adaptability obstacle will be found in the practice and will be made a detailed studies and records. The paper combines theoretical knowledge and service practices, using the theory knowledge reprocessing to practices.This study, under the guidance of the theory of energized, tries to introduce peer support to case work, beginning with a case for service, then making the introduction of peer support, gradually in-depth, finally through the study for system services of director to help him smooth integrating into the new collective. The method of case interviews and peer support groups to intervene adult intellectual disabilities adaptability obstacle are used, to guide director building a benign social relations with the surrounding environment, help director integrate into new intellectual disabilities group, in order to ascend director’s self-confidence and social adaptation ability. From the point of practical effect, although adult intellectual disabilities can accept the reporter’s guide in casework, but the service effect is slightly thin. After the introduction of peer support, director received a positive response within the team from his peers, promoted the egotism communication and interaction with other adult intellectual disabilities, also providing more possibilities with mutual acceptance of intellectual disabilities.
