Research On Social Work Intervention In Family Social Support Services For Children With Intellectual Disabilities

People with disabilities have always been a vulnerable group in society,and children with intellectual disabilities are more vulnerable among vulnerable groups.In addition to affecting the healthy growth of children,mental retardation can also cause a series of blows to their families.At present,China's social welfare protection policies for children with intellectual disabilities are still not perfect,and there is a lack of welfare and protection for families with mentally handicapped children.In fact,the quality of life of family carers and the survival and development of children with intellectual disabilities are affected by the social support of their families.This article takes the "JS" project in which the author's professional internship participates as an example.The project randomly selected 30 families of children with intellectual disabilities as subjects to conduct demand surveys,and to understand the basic situation,current status and social support status of children with intellectual disabilities and their families in the form of participatory observation and semi-structured interviews.The study found that families with mentally retarded children mainly face the needs of psychology,ability and emotion.According to the needs analysis,the project uses case,group and community working methods under the guidance of family system theory,social support theory and advantage perspective theory.Effective service.The project evaluation has reached the needs of the client,and built its internal and external support system to enhance the ability of children with intellectual disabilities to solve problems and promote their social integration.At the intervention level,they will gain more for families with intellectual disabilities.Concerns are conducive to creating a social atmosphere of equal acceptance and eliminating discrimination among the general public on families with intellectual disabilities.While achieving results,the project still has shortcomings in the process of intervention,the objectiveness of evaluation results,and the integrity of services.In order to further improve the effectiveness of social work in the social support of children with intellectual disabilities,this paper draws on the experience of domestic and foreign policies and services.According to the completion of the project,countermeasures were proposed from the aspects of education,rehabilitation,employment and resettlement.
