Environmental Protection Volunteer Translation For Legal Research

Since China adopted the policy of reforming and opening-up, the national economy has grown rapidly. However, it also caused a large number of problems to social development, among which the increasingly severe conflict between nature and mankind, pollution, ecological damage and other troubles caused by environmental problems are prominent. Due to this, the organizations of volunteer service for environmental protection rose gradually and grew swiftly. Facing serious situations of environmental deterioration, the organizations of volunteer service for environmental protection gradually revealed its powerful vitality and played an important role in making up for the deficiency of government in solving eco-environmental problems. But the legal problems volunteers met during the process of volunteer service for environmental protection have seriously obstructed the sound development of its business. Presently, legal researches about volunteer service for environmental protection are still in primary stage. The relevant system of theories and researches also need improving, lacking the researches in law especially in definitions and guarantees of volunteers’ rights and subjects of compensation and responsibilities they should take when accidents occur.Based on the introduction to the conceptual definitions of volunteer service for environmental protection and the theories including public participation, government failure as well as volunteer failure, this thesis will explain our national legislative situation and existing problems of volunteer service for environmental protection. Meanwhile, it will compare the legislation of volunteering services in America, Britain and Japan and then analyze the inspiration from overseas legislation of volunteer service. Finally, it puts forward suggestions to improve our national legislations of volunteering service for environmental protection from five aspects including judgments about legal qualifications of volunteers for environmental protection, legal positions of the organization of volunteering service for environmental protection, legal relations between subjects of volunteering service for environmental protection, rights and obligations of volunteers and volunteering organizations and awards and guarantees toward volunteerservice for environmental protection.
