A Study On Community Service Development In The Tide Of New-Type Urbanization

In order to improve the serious imbalance between urban and rural development, and follow the situation of social transformation, the Chinese government put forward the concept of new-type urbanization. It is the only way leading to the modernization, the biggest potential domestic demand, an important driving force of economic development, and a significant project of the people’s livelihood.Since community is the basic element of modern society, community service functions as an important component of society service, which has become one of the essential needs of new-type urbanization. While the new-type urbanization means urban residents’ occupation transition and the citizenization of education, medicare, housing, pension plan and other fundamental public services, most importantly, it is a process of comprehensive urbanization of existing residents, the principle of urbanization process. Such a transition can only be achieved upon the solid foundation of improved community service.The author looks into the origination and principles of urbanization and community service to search for the valuable experiences from the current community services in United States and Japan with a focus on the administration of both society and community under the background of China’s new-type urbanization. Also, the author takes the Honhshan Community in Wuhan as an example to explore the issues encountered during China’s community service development. The target is to find a viable solution of optimizing the commuinty service during China’s urban development.
