Sternberg was the first man who proposed the concept of thinking styles in the theory of psychological self-management. That provided a new research direction for the developmental field of education. It explored the differences of students in the different majors according to researching of thinking styles to provide the scientific basis for improving the quality of university teaching. The most existential conclusions result in ordinary universities and secondary-school students instead of the special group which make up of sports-majored students. So that it is lack of discussion conclusion about relationship between the unique thinking styles of sports-majored students and performance. Based on that above, this paper surveyed the thinking styles of263sports-majored university students from Tianjin University of Sports, and then collected their academic achievements of Overview of Sports and Sports Anatomy, found that:Firstly, the main thinking styles of the sports-majored students are the legislative style, the external style and the liberal style.Secondly, in terms of gender, that males are inclined to be the judicial style and the monarchic style, which is different from that of females’, females’ are the executive style, the hierarchic style, the oligarchic style and the external style of females.Thirdly, through the research on the locally-granted students, the college students from cities tend to be the executive style and the oligarchic style, however the college students from countries tend to be the internal style.Fourthly, in terms of the family environment, the thinking styles of non-only-child students are inclined to be the local style.Fifthly, the thinking styles of different sports-majored students exist significant differences, as following:The thinking styles of martial-art-majored students are inclined to be the internal style, the local style, the global style, the oligarchic style, the monarchic style and the legislative styles instead of the liberal style; The thinking styles of football-majored, basketball-majored and volleyball-majored students tend to be the oligarchic style and the legislative style; The thinking styles of track-and-field-majored students are less inclined to be the hierarchic style and the global style; The thinking styles of badminton-majored, tennis-majored and ping-pong-majored students are inclined to be the judicial style and the global style; The thinking styles of sports-art-majored students are inclined to be the liberal style, the internal style, the global style and the monarchic style instead of the hierarchic style and the executive style.Sixthly, according to the research on the relationship between the thinking styles and the academic performance, the lower-scored group on the course of Overview of Sports got a higher score in the monarchic style, the global style and the internal style than the higher-scored group; the higher-scored group got a higher score in the hierarchic style than the lower-scored group. The lower-scored group on the course of Sports Anatomy got a higher score in the monarchic style, the global style, the internal style, the local style and conservative style than higher-scored group. For the sports-majored students, the higher scores in the monarchic style they get, the lower scores in the courses of Overview of Sports and Sports Ananomy they achieve.
