Naturalist education refers to the modern western bourgeois education theory and thought. It advocated of following children’s natural order of development. As early as ancient Greek time, Aristotle made a preliminary exposition on the relationship between man and nature. Comenius who was a Czech educator, wrote the Didactical Magna in which it put forward the thought of "imitate nature". The French educator Rousseau put forward natural education and child-centered thought clearly. Pestalozzi thought the traditional education which treated children cruelly was wrong and education should accord with human’s nature and psychology. In nineteenth century, German educator Herbart proposed that educators must hold on the psychology. Naturalistic education had the extremely important influence in the history of western education, and made a great contribution to the education.The goal of naturalist education is to accord with the law of nature, pay attention to the existence of people and cultivate natural person. The soul of the naturalist education is people’s education, which emphasizes on the research of children’s personality to establish children’s subjective status in education, and values the research of children’s psychological development.China’s education has different kinds of defects in teaching activities. Though we talk about the quality education and innovation education everyday, we don’t perceive the essence of quality education and innovation education in the concrete teaching process, which includes deviation in individuation education, ignorance of children’s subjective status in teaching process, teacher’s focus on the purely grasp of knowledge, on the class and teaching alone, and neglect of student’s individual life experience and so on.Aiming at these problems, through the thorough understanding of naturalist educational thought, as well as the modern value investigation of naturalist educational view, it is thought that naturalist education can provide reference for our country in the research. In detail, naturalist education can create a more broad development space for our individualized education, emphasize on the subjectivity of the student which enable them to be the master of learning, and promote the teacher to follow the student’s psychological development rule, and so on.Naturalistic education has not only played an indelible role in the western history of education, but also effect on our education with its unique charm. Therefore, what we should do is to grasp the soul of naturalist education accurately, which can bring more thoughts and enlightenments to our education.
