As the foundation of special education,individualized education has also become an active and urgent demand to develop special education.The research,basing on 40 special education schools in Anhui,finds out existing problems,analyzes their reasons and proposes corresponding solutions to arouse the attention of the whole society to the teachers in education of mentally retarded,understands their demands and required relevant support in all aspects about their plan formulation,implementation and evaluation process in individualized education.The research compiles “Formulation,Implementation,Evaluation and Difficult Questionnaire for Individualized Education Plan for Teachers in Education of Mentally Retarded” based on the researches of Xin Weihao and other people via referring to relevant documents and books at home and abroad.The research analyzes the development of individualized education in the four dimensions including planning,implementation,evaluation and difficulties encountered of teachers in education of mentally retarded and takes 40 special schools in Anhui as examples for specific discussion.The results of the study:1.Plan formulation: less opportunities for teacher training and heavy tasks;less prominent “individualization” and unreasonable personnel formulation;low efficiency of plan formulation;various plan contents but less application subjects.2.Specific implementation: low usage frequency;less administrative assistance;single teaching method;difficult selection of teaching strategies;great gap between the established goal and the actual teaching.3.Relevant evaluation: low parent participation degree;unsystematic evaluation methods;difficult target adjustment according to evaluation results.4.Teacher: the higher the teaching age,the more difficult to change the existing teaching model;lack of professional skill training.Corresponding suggestions:1.Individualized education: simplifying program and informational development;perfecting system and legalizing development.2.Schools of special education should pay attention to individual education,and provide services for its smooth development.3.Society-adaptation teachers should change their traditional ideas and improve their professional skills.4.Parents of special children should work with schools of special education to serve special children.
