Since the1990s, with the advent of the globalization and information age, the rapid developmentin every field of the society more and more depends on the high level talents. In the society, thedemand for the comprehensive talents is increasing such as having international vision, proficiency ineastern and Western culture and having innovative spirit. So the postgraduate education is anindispensable link as an important part and highest level of the higher education.What’s more, under the trend of ultra-conventional large-scale development and thediversification of the degree type and training mode in postgraduate education, the sustainabledevelopment of graduate education in China will be affected badly without quality control andguarantee.In this paper, through the analysis of the related literature research and comparative study on thegraduate education quality assurance system, I explored some existing problems in the work ofgraduate education quality assurance in China. Then I gave a comparison in the quality assurancesystem of the postgraduate education among several foreign developed countries-The UnitedStates, Britain, France, and Japan, then stated the enlightenment bringing to the quality assurance ofChina’s postgraduate education. Finally, from the concept of total quality control I proposed thestrategy on the quality assurance system of China’s postgraduate education which is suitable forChina’s national conditions, so as to improve the quality of postgraduate education in ChinaIn conclusion, we realized that we should emphasize the combination between internal andexternal assurance from the management experience of graduate education quality assurance indeveloped countries. The internal quality assurance mechanism of the university should be paid moreattention. At the same time, it is believed that the external social forces such as social organizationsplay a major role in the processes of graduate education quality assurance. We should strengthen andimprove the graduate quality management system from enrollment, cultivation and output linkscontinuously. We should set up a new postgraduate education quality evaluation system composed ofthree evaluation main body the government, society and university, and their relationship amongthem is mutual cooperation and coordination. At the same time, the establishment of efficientpostgraduate quality feedback system is necessary, thus the postgraduate education has sustained,rapid and healthy development in China.
