With the improvement of people s living standard, the community s residents demands are alsoincreasing. Community sports are not only the way for residents to fit their body and relax, but also toimprove their interpersonal interaction. Thus the governments proposed to build fitness circle facilities of community sports to provide the best suitable living environment for residents. But it stillhasn t come up how to build this kind of fitness circle by government yet. In this context, referringto the location planning approach of public facilities of foreign and domestic, a new location planningfor fitness circle facilities of city community sports was put forward. The construction of fitness circle of community sports is a government project. Its publicproperty, continuous distribution of demand and none-identified candidate set of facility locationmake it different from other facility location problem. On the premise of keeping the current sportsfacilities in original places, based on principles of economy, fairness and efficiency, an improvedLSCP model and an combined model were established to acquire the minimal quantity and location ofnew facilities, which can fully cover the community residents demand. GIS technology and clustertheory were applied to scatter the continuous demand so as to extract the discrete demand points. Thecandidate set of facility location was also obtained by the buffer analysis of demand points using GIS.Finally, the network of facility location was built, and the LSCP and combined model were solved byGIS technology and Lingo software. After taking Wuxi city for example to research, the locationresult was obtained in text and two-dimension map format. The research is significant for theimplement of National Fitness Program as well as the construction of fitness circle of communitysports.
