Teachers’ mental growth has become a special topic in Teacher Education, is a researchfield is booming. The teacher in charge as the groups of teacher in special, not only toimprove the teaching ability, but also to strengthen the ideological construction andenhance the psychological quality. Whether social, school, student or teacher themselvesare aware of the mental growth is not only the requirements of the times, but alsoindividual needs. The mental growth is the head teachers constantly improve themselves,the pursuit of greater development. Group counseling as a kind of psychologicalinterventions, has been recognized by many areas, the increasingly wide range ofapplications. This study based on the need to solve the problems in the process ofelementary school teacher in charge mental growth, guided by the theory and method ofgroup counseling, primary school teacher on the individual’s needs as the breakthroughpoint, with the head teacher and the group leader in time, make full use of the Marathonadvantages of group counseling, group, proposed the direction and the method is morereasonable, scientific mental primary head teacher growth.In this study, the preliminary investigation of mental primary head teacher growth needs,collection of field observations and interviews; A selection of12primary head teacher inMedium-term, to carry out the four Marathon Group Counseling; The late member ofsubjective report collection, sorting inventory data, analysis of the mental growth ofdemand; Finally, discuss the effect of Marathon Group Counseling on the mental growth ofprimary head teacher; discuss the effectiveness of primary head teacher’ mental growth;discuss the influence factors of the mental growth of primary head teacher.This study suggests that:1、Through the investigation of demand, primary head teacher mental growth mainlyincludes the self cognition level, interpersonal relationship improvement, several aspects ofmental management ability and other requirements.2、Marathon Group Counseling can effectively promote the ability of self cognition ofthe primary head teacher,harmonious interpersonal relationship and emotion managementability. The effect of mental primary head teacher growth is mainly reflected in the effectiveness of the wok, the change of the idea and behavior.3、Demand for primary school teacher mental growth,community satisfaction andsocial support were the main factors influencing the psychological growth of primaryhead teacher.4、Group Counseling can effectively mental intervention in primary head teacher growth,Group leadership style and group counseling is beneficial to promote members change,primary head teacher is easy to accept the group counseling training.Therefore, teachers or tutors in the development process, attention to the mentaldevelopment, make full use of the theories and methods of group counseling, constructionof teacher group counseling training mode, can play a multiplier effect.
