Objective: To explore the effect of group psychology counseling ondevelopment of psychological quality in college students , and explore the moreobjective indexes to reflect the effect of group psychology counseling . Methods: 90 freshmen recruited from Shanxi Medical University wererandomly divided into two groups : 60 of them received 8 times group psychologycounseling ,the other 30 ( 1 missed ) were designed as control group .The twogroups were tested through some psychology Scales( Self Consistency andCongruence Scale ,Coping Style Questionnaire , Symptom Checklist 90( SCL-90 ), Self-Rating Anxiety Scale ( SAS ), Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS ), Catteii the Sixteen Personality Factor Test (16 PF ) ) and some basalpsychological experiments (the simply reaction time of vision ,the distinguishreaction time of vision, the image mental rotation ) before interference .All theindexes except Catteii the Sixteen Personality Factor Test (16 PF ) were examedafter interference. Results : 1,Evaluations of intervention effectiveness were as follows : ① Self consistency and congruence degree of the intervention grouphad been remarkably improved: the intervention group were better than thecontrol group in the development of the general mark of self consistency andcongruence ,the disharmony between self and experience ,the flexibility of self . ② the intervention group had been remarkably better than control groupin the improvement of coping style such as solving problems , self-accusation ,fantasy. ③ the intervention group had been remarkably better than control group inthe improvement of the general mark of SCL-90 and some factors such asinterpersonal sensitivity ,depression ,hostility . ④ the intervention group had been remarkably better than control groupin the improvement of the depression index .⑤ the intervention group had been remarkably better than control group inthe improvement of the simply reaction time of vision . 2,Analysis of the factors which affect the improvement of self consistencyand congruence, coping style ,mental health ,emotion ,activity of mental ,activityof cognize ①The major influencing factors of the improvement about the general markof self consistency and congruence were pre-exam of the general mark, differencebetween pre-exam and post-exam in depression index and coping style ,excitation , adventurousness and permanence . ② The major influencing factors of the improvement in solving problemwere the pre-exam of solving problem , intervention, self-discipline ,and et al.The major influencing factors of the improvement in self-accusation were thepre-exam of self-accusation, intervention, difference between pre-exam andpost-exam in the general mark of SCL-90, intelligence, and et al. The majorinfluencing factors of the improvement in fantasy were the pre-exam of fantasy ,intervention, and et al. ③The major influencing factors of the difference in the general mark ofSCL-90 were the pre-exam of the general mark , difference between pre-exam andpost-exam in the general mark of self consistency and congruence andself-accusation, and et al. ④The major influencing factors of the difference in the depression indexwere pre-exam of this index, intervention, difference between pre-exam andpost-exam in the general mark of self consistency and congruence andrationalization , permanence ,and et al. ⑤The major influencing factors of the difference in the simply reaction timeof vision were the pre-exam ,intervention ,independence ,and et al. The majorinfluencing factors of the difference in the distinguish reaction time of vision werethe pre-exam ,intervention ,fantasticalness ,permanence ,and et al. ⑥The major influencing factors of the difference in the positive R reactiontime of vision were the pre-exam, testability, susceptibility, and et al.
