The professional level of preschool teachers is a key factor of affectingteaching quality of preschools. The preschool teachers’ develpment ofprofession includes their profession idea, profession knowledge, and theprofessional competence. The professional competence is the most importantpart, which directly influences the development of children andkindergartens’ teaching quality. The new issued "The Profession Standards ofPreschool Teachers" brings forward that preschool Teachers should possessseven professional compentences.In this paper, based on that seven professional compentences mentionedin "The Profession Standards of Preschool Teachers", we have designed aquestionnaire with which we have researched the status of the professionalcompetence of Shanxi province’s core preschool teachers.By investigating, we found the most core preschool teachers in Shanxiprovince have been aware of the importance of professional competence, butthere were some problems in their professional competence which concern theteacher itselve, the kindergarden and our society.Aimed at those problems, we put forward some advices as follow.Establishing the preschool tearchers’ professional identity; Exercising theability of reflection; Build up a sense of lifetime learning; Improving thequlity of kindergardens’ environment; Setting up rules of advancing preschoolteachers’ profession development; Upgrading the leadship of the heads ofkindergardens; Increasing Financial investment; Consummating thequalification system of preschool teachers; Optimizing training pattern. Wehoping these advices should help the teachers enhance their professioncompentence.
