Nowadays, caring for life has become a social value ofcommon concern and is widely applied to various fields. As faras the education sector is concerned: the main objects ofeducation are the students who are a group of intelligent lives;the students’ lives should be cared for, and much emphasisshould be put on improving their life qualities in the processof education. Unfortunately, in the reality of our society,people pay more attention to the students’ test scores and theschools’ graduation rates, which lead to a widespread neglectof students’ own lives; teenage students have a weak sense oflife, besides, there is little concern about it in the secondaryeducation. In the current background of our primary andsecondary curriculum characterized by a general miss of lifeeducation, the humanity of Chinese courses has endowed it witha mainstay role in the implementing of life education. Thispaper mainly makes discussion in the following three aspects:Firstly, this paper will briefly discuss the scientificconnotation of life. On this basis, further explanation aboutlife education will be elaborated; the meaning of implementinglife education will be explained in three ways, including compensating the defect in education itself; carrying forward“people-oriented” philosophy of education and intensifyingthe awareness of life of young people.Furthermore, this paper will try to prove the feasibilityof applying life education for junior students in two ways whichare the rich resources for life education in Chinese textbooksand making it a good method to select some Chinese texts toconduct life education. Secondly, this paper will make specificexplanations about the content of life education contained injunior Chinese textbooks issued by the People’s Education Pressthrough three aspects which are natural life education, sociallife education and individual life education. By this way, thecontent of life education contained in Chinese textbooks willbe explored, which in turn will help to promote theimplementation of life education.Finally, this paper will analyze about how the Chineseteachers should make use of the Chinese textbook as well asother means to carry out life education in the process ofChinese teaching. Then, three requirements will be made hereto Chinese teachers, and another three teaching suggestionswill be given from the perspective of application, hopping thatthe Chinese teachers can use the existing resources to guide students to perceive true life, love life and revere life whilelearning knowledge. By such way, they can connect theindividual with the nature and the society closely together andthen enhance the quality of life as well as realize the valueof life.
