Cultural Classics, the spiritual home of a nation and the essence of national spirit, are very important for our national cultural heritage. As the most important carrier of Confucian culture, Confucian classics are the foundation and source of Chinese culture, and respected by Chinese people from generation to generation for thousands years. However, the Confucian classics have been influenced by Western culture and suffered a twists fate since modern times. Under the department system of the modern school education, the relationship between Confucian classics and Middle school Chinese education is full of twists and turns. From "reading sermons" the first to the rejection of Confucian classics, and then being accepted gradually till today, Confucian classics have endured a hundred Years of bitter history. Confucian classics in Middle school Chinese education are still in an awkward position until the 21st century. Considering the unique value of cultural connotation of Confucian classics in Middle school Chinese education, the selection and teaching of Confucian classics in Middle school Chinese textbooks are sort out and studied in this article, in order to fully show its unique value and meaning in Middle school Chinese education.The whole paper includes introduction and text.Introduction gives a briefly depiction of the origin of topics, research profile and significance of the topic.The text can be divided into three parts:In the first part, the acceptance in the history and the modern experience of Confucian classics were analyzed according to their profiles; then the significance of the Confucian classics, especially their special value for the education of Middle school students, was discussed; rough journey of Confucian classics and Middle school Chinese education in hundred years was discussed in the end.Secondly, taking People's Education Press version Middle school Chinese textbooks under the new curriculum standard as the center of our research, the selection of Confucian classics was observed vertically (People's Education Press version in different periods) and horizontally (People's Education Press version,Jiangsu education press, Language and literature press under the new curriculum standard). On this basis, the selected articles were compared specifically from the quantity, the quality, the style, the system and after-school exercises; the impact factor of Confucian classics selection in Middle school Chinese textbooks were discussed at the end of this part.Finally, teaching of Confucian classics selected was discussed based on the analysis of textbooks. Taking the analysis of the current status and causes of forming as the basis, the design of class teaching of the Confucian classics was discussed under the experience of the traditional teaching of the Confucian classics and self-examination of the teaching of Confucian classics selections in modern times. The traditional culture values and rich cultural connotations have to be highlighted, and the reading-based teaching methods should go back.
