Pharmaceutical professional ethics refer to the fundamental principles and behavioral normsthat pharmaceutical practitioners should observe to manage their relationship with patients, servicetargets, colleagues, and the society. Pharmaceuticals industry concerns millions of people’sphysical health and life security, which has made the industry quite particular. Painfully, accidentsconcerning drug safety occur frequently in China, posing a serious threat to people’s life and health.The fundamental cause is the lack of integrity, moral abnormality, and corruption of values shownin pharmaceutical practitioners. As a new force serving in various fields of pharmaceuticalsindustry in the future, the level of professional ethics of pharmaceutical undergraduates will relatedirectly to the development and stability of the industry. Pharmaceutical colleges and universitiesbear the burden of cultivating future pharmaceutical practitioners. Therefore, they ought tostrengthen the education of professional ethics for pharmaceutical students, internalizing theprinciples and norms as students’ personal morals by means of education, nurturing pharmaceuticalpractitioners with good knowledge of modern pharmaceutical science, pharmaceutical technology,as well as high standard of professional ethics. It has practical and guiding significance forimproving the level of students’ professional ethics and the quality of talent cultivation inpharmaceutical colleges and universities.This paper is divided into five chapters. Chapter1is a general introduction briefing on thebackground of topic selection, the significance of the study, research status home and abroad,research techniques and an overview of the content. Chapter2theoretically explains the educationof pharmaceutical professional ethics, clarifying the connotation of morals, professional ethics,education of professional ethics, pharmaceutical professional ethics, and education ofpharmaceutical professional ethics, defining the five basic morals for pharmaceutical practitioners:conscience, responsibility, honor, reputation and career goal. In Chapter3, it analyzes the currentsituation of education of pharmaceutical professional ethics home and abroad, finding out theexisting problems in our education, through comparison with that in the United States andGermany. Chapter4discusses the curriculum system construction concerning professional ethicseducation in pharmaceutical colleges and universities. In this chapter, it puts forward suggestionsfor curriculum system construction from four perspectives: updating the curriculum concept,setting a clear goal for the curriculum of pharmaceutical professional ethics, expanding the implications of professional ethics curriculum, and innovating the education. Chapter5probes intothe system construction of hidden curriculum. Hidden curriculum plays an irreplaceable role inmoral education of college students. Chapter5explores how to establish hidden curriculumeducational system of pharmaceutical professional ethics from three aspects: extracurricularactivities, Internet culture, campus culture and institutional culture, and integrate elements of theGerman pharmaceutical drugs specialized courses and teachers to practice medicine Germanexample.Adopting research methods including document research, survey research, case analysis andcomparative study, this paper explores the education strategy in pharmaceutical vocational collegesin the new circumstances, proposes the solution of establishing a sound system for professionalethics education for pharmaceutical students. This paper provides valuable theoretical support forthe improvement of the comprehensive quality of pharmaceutical students, and professional ethicseducation in the author’s college and other pharmaceutical colleges and universities in particular.
