How can we make Junior High School students experience the charm of music teaching in a better way? And how can we develop their capabilities? The author believes.that ExperientialApproach which emphasizes "learning through practice is an effective teaching method, In this approach,suitable environments and activities are created so that students enhance their cognition by means of experien cing,communicating and sharing,they acquire knowledgeand skills through practice and reflection.Experiential approach was introduced into the American classrooms during1920s and1930s when a lot of western education theories contain the idea of experiential learning.However studies in this area are still in the initial stage in China. And the author has found even less relevant theoretical research and practical application in Junior High school music instruction in our country. That is why the author chooses this subject to be the focus of the present study.Literature review, observation analysis, experiential summary method are the mainmethods applied in this paper. The study concludes that Experiential Approach greatly increases students’ interests in learning music and that the rich musical experience plays an important role in promoting their mental and physical health.
