The biology curriculum puts forward that we should attach importance to theconnection with real life, which means that teaching biology should reflect life. Thecurriculum standards require us to pay more attention to students’ life experience andactive learning. Meanwhile, homework is an important component of teaching procedures.Thus, it should become a platform for carrying out the concepts of curriculum reform.The project comes up with the concept of homework of life and does research on thelayout of the homework of Grade7. It forms a virtuous cycle through creating situations,giving suggestions, guiding cooperation, multiple assessment, feedback presentation andhomework arrangement, which motivates students to associate the knowledge learnt andreal life and promotes understanding and comprehending between biological phenomenaand essence. Besides, it develops students’ ability to explore, think, analyse and cooperatewith others, thus making students have a better idea of life.Based on the problems discovered in questionnaires, the project carries out homeworkof life eight times in the manner of group comparison. In the process of experiment, as forthe initiative and cooperative ability of the experiment group and the grades of thebiological exams of comparison group, it adopts independent samples Z checkout and X2divisor checkout, analyses and compares the former and latter results. Moreover, conductsa tracking survey on students’ homework in the process of experiment. It turns out thatstudents’ initiative and cooperative ability are improved to a certain extent and they achievehigher grades. Thus, we can safely conclude that homework of life develops students’interest in learning biology and makes a difference to students’ ability to exploration andcooperation. Last but not least, it points out some drawbacks and some unsolved problemsof the project and draws the conclusion that the project is of great significance to thefurther reform of biology teaching.
