Parent-kid relationship is a quite important one among all the social relations duringone’s life. The frequent conflicts and communication breakdowns always throw parents totheir wit’s end without knowing how to face the development of their kids. Thus, somecertain external forces are involved in boosting happiness among family members.This article analyses the group experience activity of “where are we going onweekends”. The author designed and implemented the program for the five families andapplied participant observation of qualitative study in the development of this activity. Theauthor personally guided the group and noticed the influence on group members, andappraised the relationship improvement effect of the said method through subjectiveevaluating, goal attainment scaling and group feedback. Through this activity, we cansoundly draw the conclusion that group-service practice has a positive impact on theimprovement of the relationship between junior-high kids and their parents. Under the helpof experiential group, mutual understanding is enhanced and conflicts are relieved. Themethod of experiential group can effectively bridge the gap between kids and their parents.This article thoroughly summarizes the operational experience in applying the methodof experiential group and verifies the effect of the group-service practice. By the means ofprofound analysis and reflection on each service experience, the author hopes to developthe microscopic practice mode of group work, and to open up a new approach for thegroup-service practice of improving parent-kid relationship service. Besides, the authorhopes that this article can provide reference for those who are working on related primaryposts.
