With the acceleration of the socialist modernization process, society has putforward new requirements on models of talents training in higher education. Colleges’ideological and political education is helpful to improve and perfect students’ moralityand cultivation, to make students set up correct outlook on world, life and values. Italso has a great and far-reaching strategic significance on the development of thesocialist modernization cause.College students’ ideological and political education is a complicated andsystematic project. It needs all college teachers to participate in and cooperate, butmost of the professional course teachers in our country present the separationphenomenon between professional knowledge teaching and moral educationcultivating in the teaching process at present. Therefore, attaching great importance toideological and political education role molding is particularly urgent in theprofessional course teachers.This paper used the basic concepts of professional course teachers’ ideologicaland political education role molding as the breakthrough point, defined the conceptsof the professional course teachers, the role of ideological and political education andthe professional course teachers’ ideological and political education role molding.Then on the basis of exploring relevant theories such as people’s all-rounddevelopment, ideological and political education environment and modern education,this paper expounded the necessity of professional course teachers’ ideological andpolitical education role molding and the similarities and differences of the educationalfunction between them and ideological and political theory teachers. With themethods of questionnaire, interview and comparison, the achievements and thedeficiencies that the college professional course teachers’ ideological and politicaleducation role molding has got at present have been found. By analyzing the currentachievements and the deficiencies and combining with some relevant theories, thispaper presented four reasons: the lack of role consciousness, the deficiency of roleability, the absence of role environment and the omission of role behavior. Then basedon these four aspects, from the angles of role consciousness training, role abilityascending, role environment improving and role behavior realizing, the paper putforward the specific paths of professional course teachers’ ideological and political education role molding, and hope they can give valuable references in shapingprofessional course teachers’ ideological and political education role effectively.
