| In recent years, left-behind children showed difficulty when entering society, especially when completing socialization.The issue of left-behind children has surged to the forefront of public attention recently. As a social worker, the author seeks to improve the quality of life for the vulnerable group through research, direct practice,and intervenient strategies.In this paper,the study objects are left-behind children from Xinwan, a small village in Dongguan, Guangdong Province. The majority of study objects are aged10-14.Puberty is the pro cess of physical changes, and in this process children started to adapt the ability of Selfjudgment, self-awareness, and self-analyze psychological activities. Furthermore, they are becoming able to form personal character and morality based on internalization and socialize tion. Besides, Xinwan left-behind children are easier to get affected by external social factors compare to regular rural left-behind children, because Xinwan is located at the edge of Dongguan city.The author worked as a social worker in the community for a four month sinternship.Based on the theory of the social learning theory,by utilizing the method of social work team work, social workers have planned to invite them to attend a series of activity in order to make positive influences ontheir development of socialization. However, these have raise a bunch of questions. For example, what kind of activity should we design to improve their social development, and how do we evaluate the effectiveness of the activity. In the hope to these children socially in development put forward effective Suggestions.With the aim of answering these questions, the author has planned to apply a combination of experimental design and study group to practice. Ac c ording to the experiment, Xinwan left-behind children has been divided i nto two different groups:one group has attended a series of social activities, and the other group has not as control. The experiment was conducted in a form of survey, which composed of five dimensions:loneliness, independency, Pugnaciousness, emotional dependency, and warmth, and the questionnaire score quantitativeanalysis. Findings:s ocial work intervention could improve the loneliness of left-behind children. In group of independency, pugnaciousness, emotional dependency, and warmth is not obvious. Through summary analysis of the project process and the experimental result-s, and puts forward countermeasures and Suggestions abou t the left-behind children of social work. |
