Study On The Distribution Of Higher Education Resources In China

The popularization of higher education has accelerated since the expansion of university’s enrollment in1999. The fairness of higher education has attracted public attention during this pried of time. The fairness of higher education is important to social stability and economic development. The equilibrium allocation of higher education resources is an important way to realize the fairness of higher education.The thesis studied the allocation of higher education resources in China by analyzing regional differences of higher education and the expenditure of higher education. The thesis also studied on high quality higher education resources by some indexes because of the importance of it.The thesis can be divided into six chapters and five parts. Chapter1and chapter2are the first part, mainly including research background, research significance, research contents, research framework, research methods and literature review. The first Chapter is the introduction and summary of proposed dissertation research on the practical significance of the thesis, and the contents, overall framework, and research methods of the article, the innovation is also included. The second chapter is the literature review. The second part is chapter3. In this part, the thesis analyzes the regional differences of higher education among areas and the role of city in higher education. The chapter4is part3. This part introduces the meaning of finance and studies on the differences of expenditure of higher education among departments and areas. The forth part is chapter5. By choosing some indexes, this part researches on the distribution of high quality higher education resource. The last part is chapter6. It makes a summary of the thesis and an outlook of future research directions.Through the research, this thesis argues that the gap of higher education is narrowing. The resource of higher education is gathering to some cities especially capital cities. High quality resource of higher education, which is important to higher education, is concentrating in east part of China and some cities in central and western regions. Beijing, compared with other cities, has much more high quality resource.
