Research On The Social Functions And Development Countermeasures Of The Green Social Organizations

With the coming of the21st century, ecological autonomism and ecological Marxism show new conception of community development to us from the perspective of human ecological management, and put forward that the ecological community or the green community is the rational way to environmental protection society and to sustainable development. The green community is defined as a new emerging community where both citizen environmental protection and civil society combine and develop. The green community focuses on putting environmental protection and ecological construction into the community management through citizen self-management, and emphasizes self education and self management of the community residents during the process of environmental protection and ecological construction. With the development and practice of the concept of green community, the folk environmental organizations have gradually developed from the bottom of the society, playing an important part in the urban community environmental protection and ecological construction field, such as the green social organizations in community.The green social organizations take public environmental protection and ecological construction as their aims. They are non-profit folk organizations which absorbing social forces in participating in urban community environmental protection and ecological construction to promote the formation of the public environment welfare in urban community. The green social organizations are public and non-profit, their social functions mainly reflect in two fields:one is to promote the improvement of the urban community public environment; the other is to promote the environmental protection and ecological construction education of community citizens, and to promote the development of the civil society. In particular, the green social organizations, as an important participating subject in the urban community environmental protection and ecological construction, greatly indicate the software of the city community; they are important social power of environmental protection and ecological construction of the urban community. Especially, under the background of the government functions changing from the traditional administration to a service style, the green social organizations will play more and more important effect on the society in professional social services and take more social field service. Therefore, in the future, the green social organizations will be the core force of urban community organization environmental protection and ecological construction; they will fulfill the service function of the urban community environmental protection and ecological construction. In addition, as an important foundation of urban community environmental protection and ecological construction, the green social organizations will unite and educate the city residents, provide spiritual tie for the city community residents to participate in the environmental protection and ecological construction.The green social organizations provide systematic channel for community city residents to participate in environmental protection and ecological construction; contribute to the community residents’long-term participation in environmental protection and ecological construction in the urban community; and contribute to promote the self management environmental protection and ecological construction in urban community.However, the green social organizations are just in the rising stage, facing many restricting factors; these unfavorable factors have hindered and restricted the development of green social organization and social functions. As a result, this research takes LS-a social organization in Nanjing city, Jiangsu province as a case of social organization, trying to investigate its present situation, its developing condition, functions it takes in environmental protection and ecological construction, and the restricting factors in its developing process from the inspective of case study, so as to understand the development situation, social function, and the restricting factors of green social organizations to some extent. And on these basis, think about and explore the countermeasures of social organization from the perspective of social work, and try to understand the function and influence of the organization that the professional social work service put on green social organizations, expecting to promote the build-in of social work professional service into green social organizations, in order to enhance the social function of green social organization.
