Under the development of society, the family became empty nest social trends, empty nesters family there is a special group-empty nest syndrome, this group concern of society. Our aging population increase, the proportion of households empty nesters rising pension become empty nesters how social issues of common concern. For empty nesters, on one hand the lack of support from within the family, on the other hand most of the elderly still living at home. Therefore, the use of professional social work elderly imperative to solve these problems, but the old social work from the West does not adapt to China’s national conditions, can not be a good solution to these old problems, so how old social work in China has become the current social work focus and center.In this paper, Changchun Yongchun community practice base, empty nesters understand the basic situation of a combination of relevant literature, statistics, field visits to study, analyze the causes of urban elderly empty nest syndrome, the demand for "empty nest syndrome" of the elderly, social identity to help ease stress in their lives, to provide excellent services to meet the spiritual needs and life needs of the elderly. In the case of social work intervention methods elderly empty nest syndrome family, for the complexity of the "empty nest syndrome" symptoms and stages using different methods to achieve the prevention, treatment,"empty nest syndrome" Purpose:preliminary estimates, detailed Basic understanding of the client’s situation; deep psychological problems to determine the main case and the main causes; correcting the client’s ideas and in-depth case main guide treatment; treatment after the completion of the consolidation; case summary. Finally, the innovation and the lack of social work intervention empty nesters family, summary and reflection.
