Research On The Intervention Of Social Case Work To Improve The Safety Awareness Of Urban Empty-nest Elderly

Due to the decline of their physiological function,the ability to control the environment and deal with emergencies in the environment is weakened,and the safety incidents of empty nesters are frequently exposed,so it is urgent to pay attention to the safety of empty nesters.Studies have proved that 90% of the safety incidents can be prevented,to prevent the occurrence of safety accidents from the source is the fundamental to ensure the safety of empty nesters,and one of the main means of prevention is to enhance the safety awareness of empty nesters themselves.In recent years,with the continuous development of social work for the elderly,it plays an important role in the field of elderly services with its professional methods and skills.Based on this,from the perspective of social work,this paper explores the effectiveness of case work method to enhance the safety awareness of empty nesters.In this study,50 empty nesters in D community were selected as the research objects,and their safety awareness was divided into five aspects:: food safety awareness,drug safety awareness,home safety awareness mainly for preventing falls and fires,traffic safety awareness and property safety awareness.This paper explores the status quo of safety awareness of empty nesters in D community from three dimensions: safety knowledge,safety behavior and safety coping skills.The research results show that the D community empty-nesters safety consciousness is generally not high,mainly manifested in the lack of security knowledge,unsafe behavior exist in the daily life,in the case of safety problems lack of security coping skills.Then the author,guided by the ecosystem theory,analyzes the specific reasons for the low safety awareness of empty-nesters from different levels of individuals,families,communities and society.After analyzing the current situation and reasons of the low safety awareness of the urban empty nesters,the author uses simple random sampling,randomly selects an empty nester from the empty nesters who meet the research requirements as the research object,and takes the task centered model as the guidance,intervenes in the case work,and explores the effectiveness of the case work intervention in improving the safety awareness of the urban empty nesters.In the process of case intervention,the author established a development oriented cooperative relationship with the service object,and helped the service object to enhance the safety awareness through the completion of six stages of tasks,including the learning of safety knowledge and safety coping skills,the transformation of home environment,and the change of bad habits.The results show that: the case work guided by the task centered model is very effective in improving the safety awareness of the empty nest elderly.The conclusions of this study are as follows:(1)the safety awareness of urban empty nesters is generally low.(2)the low safety awareness of service objects is affected by many factors.To improve the safety awareness of service objects,we need the joint efforts of empty nesters themselves,their families,social workers and communities(3)The case work guided by the task centered model has great advantages in improving the safety awareness of empty nesters.Finally,the advantages and disadvantages of the case work intervention process and intervention mode are reflected and suggested,hoping that this study can provide reference for other scholars who study the safety of empty nesters..
