Since ancient times, people have been in constant pursuit of happiness.Different groups always have different professional career happiness because of theiroccupational characteristics differences.Professional nature of teaching provides the teacher’sprofessional happiness with higher social and ethical values. At present, although thedomestic study of teachers’ professional happiness has been relatively common. From thegeographical point of view, more research is on the economically developed areas of easternand the densely populated areas of southern,but few studies on the southwest region. Fromthe academic point of view, although research about specific subject teachers professionalhappiness has increased, but specialized research on geography is relatively rare. Because ofthis, this author used about400secondary school geography teachers throughout SichuanProvince as research subjects, conducted empirical research through literature analysis,interviews and questionnaires, Interpreted the status of geography teachers’ career happinessin secondary school, analysis the factors and proposed strategies to improve.This paper is divided into four parts:The first part is an introduction, including the topics of the reasons set forth, define theconcepts of domestic and foreign research review, research innovation and research ideas andmethods.The second part is the geography teachers’ career happiness survey in secondary schoolof Sichuan Province, including interviews and questionnaires survey report. Interview surveyshowed: Research on geography teachers’ professional happiness in secondary school ofSichuan Province has practical significance in terms of physical and mental health of teachers,the quality of teaching discipline, teacher professional development, academic long-termdevelopment, stability teachers. The survey shows that: The overall level of the provincesecondary school geography teacher professional happiness is better, but still more than halfof the teachers did not experience happiness, and Teacher professional happiness large differences between individuals. School geography teacher professional happiness associatedwith seniority rendering "U"-related, Negatively correlated with education and positivelycorrelated with the level titles. The professional happiness of geography teachers who holdoffice were significantly higher than the teachers did not hold office. The professionalhappiness of geography teachers in key secondary school were higher than whom in ordinaryschool, but professional happiness of national and provincial key secondary school was lowerthan the municipal key secondary school. Happiness of urban secondary school teachers weresignificantly higher than the happiness of township secondary school. The main factorsaffecting the professional happiness of our province secondary school geography teachersorted by importance is: income levels, school organization and management, workload,attractive profession, discipline status and social status.The third part is the thinking and recommendations for improving school geographyteacher professional happiness. According to the actual situation of the investigation,suggested the province secondary school geography teachers’ professional happiness shouldbe increased from four aspects: the teachers themselves, school management, social supportand academic environment.The fourth part is the article conclusion. Article gives conclusions and points outshortcomings.
