Biology is a natural science based on experiments. Biological experiment teaching isan important medium of improving students’ biology literacy. The research carefullydesigns a questionnaire of the status of high school biological experiment teaching in thefirst place. In the questionnaire, the students of senior grade two of Jingjiang First SeniorHigh School in2011are investigated. And present situation and problems of regular highschools are studied. Secondly, according to existing problems with high school biologicalexperiment teaching found from interviews, questionnaires and classroom observation, aswell as approaches to the problems, teaching strategies suitable for cooperative inquirylearning are adopted. The strategies take cooperative inquiry learning as the main studymethod. As per the strategies, teaching design is specially carried out towards high schoolbiological experiments in order to improve students’ biology literacy, including theirinterest in learning biology, cooperative consciousness, operation ability, investigationability, application ability and innovation ability in biological experiments. What’s more, ateaching experiment lasting for one semester is conducted among students of two parallelclasses of senior grade one of Jingjiang First Senior High School. At last, statistical data isinput into computers. By using EXCEL software and SPSS19.0software, analyses such asfrequency analyses, descriptive statistical analyses and paired-samples tests of the students’biological experimental grades, biological experiment ability, interest in learning biologyand cooperation consciousness are carried out to demonstrate influence of cooperativeinquiry learning on students’ learning outcomes.
