Cooperative learning became popular in America in the early 1970s. It made essential progress and became a creative and effective teaching theory and strategy between mid-1970s and mid-1980s. Some scholars and specialists have achieved fruitful outcomes after numerous studies and experiments. By combing the literature in recent years, there are many differences in the understanding of cooperative learning. Besides, many studies are limited to theoretical level and fewer studies on definite implementation method, teaching pattern, and evaluation. Especially under the background of new curriculum, it lacks integration of cooperative learning and experiment teaching of biology which makes carrying out cooperative learning in biology more difficult.Based on various theories and views of specialists, the author tries to carry out the cooperative study both in theory and practice level, change the traditional structure of biological experiment teaching, and cultivate the students' learning interest, cooperative sense, cooperative skill, creative ability, as well as the ability of getting information through various approaches in order to form a new relationship between teachers and students. By doing this can teachers really make biology experiment teaching become human-oriented, and change biology experiment teaching from discipline-based, knowledge-oriented conception to focus on each student's all-around development. Therefore, we can make contributions in realizing the aim of quality education which focuses on all the students' all-round development in biological experiment teaching.After the carrying out of new curriculum, combined with some relative ideas in new curriculum, the author introduces cooperative learning into biological experiment teaching. The study adopts many methods such as documentary, investigation, statistics, quasi experiment etc.. First, the author organizes the relative theories about cooperative learning and biological experiment teaching and defines them. Then, it mainly focuses on elaborating the implementation strategy of applying cooperative learning in biological teaching. This study, the author adopts quasi experiment method to begin the practical research about it. The study contains three definite methods: cooperative learning in validation experiment, inquiry experiment as well as group investigation experiment. The author uses SPSS to analyze the results of the experiment which verifies cooperative learning contributes to the students' learning interest, attitude, cooperative awareness, biological experiments skills and marks.The study is an attempt based on the carrying out of the new curriculum. Practice shows that the applying of cooperative learning in experiment teaching of biology has certain research and promotional value which can offer some beneficial reference for the members of same profession. But there are some deficiencies in the process of the research such as the gap between teaching design plan and the students real conditions, the cooperative skills needed improving, how to keep the discipline in class as well as the research of cooperative learning theories ect.. All of these aspects worth further exploration.
