It is not only a very common phenomenon in English teaching in Higher Grades ofElementary schools, but also an important form of bilateral activities between teachers andstudents that teachers evaluate students. The praising words evaluation behavior is a veryimportant part of the teaching behavior evaluation in Higher Grades of Elementaryschools, the praising words evaluation behavior can create a relaxed atmosphere,mobilizing students’ enthusiasm in English in High Grades of Elementary Schools, Thepraising words is the positive, appreciation and praising judgment, not only buildingself-confidence, but also mobilizing students’ enthusiasm. so it has been used widely inthe process of English teaching in High Grades of Elementary Schools.Under the research background, this research is to investigate and analyze thepraising expression taken in the Grade5and Grade6by English teacher of four primaryschools in Jiuquan city, Gansu province. Basing on teaching practices and the writer triesto investigate the praising evaluation expression of English teachers in Higher Grades ofElementary schools by the way of classroom observation, communication, questionnaire investigation and physical analysis. However, the article focuses on the statuesque,problems and reasons of using the praising evaluation expression. At last, as far as theproblems of the praising evaluation expression behavior, the writer offers advice abouthow to improve the behavior, which is the core of this research.There are six parts in this thesis.The first part is the introduction, including thebackground of this research, the aim and significance. The second part includes thetheories backing and the research review home and abroad. The third part is researchdesign, includes methods research practices and research approach. The fourth partincludes the careful investigation and analyzing for the praising evaluation expression ofthe English teacher in High Grades of Elementary Schools, includes the statuesque andappropriateness of the praising evaluation expression of the English teacher. The fifth partis the problems and reasons of the praising evaluation expression of the English teacher inHigh Grades of Elementary Schools, the problems includes: the praising evaluationexpression of the English teacher is frequent, simple and vague and general. the object ofthe praising evaluation expression of the English teacher is lack of fairness. the method ofthe praising evaluation expression of the English teacher is monotonous. Excessive praise,criticism of lack of Education. the feeling of the praising evaluation expression of theEnglish teacher is lack of realness. the reasons includes: The concept of the teachers on theteaching evaluation of advanced cognition is not clear,the teacher does not have thespecialized training of teachers in the evaluation mechanism, lack of thinking in theprocess of preparing lessons,the teacher is under reflection after class, teacher limited itsability of using language The sixth part is to put forward some strategy advices to optimize teachers’ evaluate behaviors in English teaching in higher grades of elementary schools:to standardize the praising evaluation expression behaviors. to bring various praisingevaluation ways. to value the pre-design of evaluation to improve the professionalquality of English teachers.to cultivate the emotional quality of English teachers. to learnthe experience from foreign language primary school English teachers. to handle the praiseand criticism properly—the booster of the praising evaluation expression behaviors. Theseventh part is the perspective and shortage of the research.
