Objective:Through moxibustion on men Sanda athletes during winter training, this paperresearches the likely effects of moxibustion on participants’ physical ability andimmunity, to explore the adjustment mechanism of moxibustion on athletes’physiological function during winter training, based on which the promotion ofmoxibustion is applied in competitive sports.Materials and Methods:Grouping: Two groups, including control group and moxibustion group with6men Sanda athletes randomly in each group respectively, aging19.7±2.42, all ofwhom are from Shanghai Institute of Physical Education Affiliated School of sportsand national second-class athletes. All of these athletes follow the same trainingschedule by the coaches during winter training.Moxibustion intervention plan: Besides regular limbering work after dailytraining at night, those in moxibustion group will also be treated by moxibustion uponbilateral Shenshu points for30minutes every day, five times a week for theconsecutive8weeks. By contrast, those in control group will only do regularlimbering work.Testing method: All the subjects will receive medical check-up, physical fitnesstest and determination of physiological and biochemical indexes one day prior towinter training and in the eight weeks since then.1. Physical fitness test: Aerobic capacity, anaerobic capacity, gripping force, reactiontime, balance force, instant BLA after2min*3sandbag hitting with1min interval2. Routine blood count and biochemical indicator: Creatine kinase(CK), Testiculartestosterone (T), Cortisol (C), Usea nitrogen (BUN), Red blood cell (RBC),Hemoglobin (Hb). 3. Immunity test index: Immunoglobulin G, Immunoglobulin M, Immunoglobulin A.Statistics method: SPSS17.0, paired t-test, P﹤0.05meaning difference, P﹤0.01meaning significant difference.Results:1. Physical fitness test:There is no obvious difference on the index of grippingforce, reaction time, balance force and anaerobic test between two groups before andafter the experiment. After experiment instant BLA of moxibustion group issignificantly higher than that before experiment (P﹤0.05), while no difference canbe seen for control group. And in moxibustion group the fourth load’s maximaloxygen intake itself higher than the ones before moxibustion (P﹤0.05), comparedwith no variation in the control group.2. Routine blood count and biochemical indicator: T and C in moxibustion groupare remarkably higher than the ones before moxibustion, which could not be seen incontrol group. As for Hb, it is also obviously higher than before experiment inmoxibustion group, which is notably lower in control group. For both groups there areno difference to be noted in terms of CK, BUN and RBC.3. Immunity test index: Immunoglobulin G and Immunoglobulin A in serum canbe seen to increase (P﹤0.05) after moxibustion, but no change in control group. And there is no difference for Immunoglobulin M before and after experiment in bothgroups.Conclusion:1. Moxibustion upon bilateral Shenshu points of men Sanda athletes wouldimprove athletes’ aerobic capacity, increase the amounts of T and Hb, improving thephysical ability to some degree during winter training.2. Moxibustion upon bilateral Shenshu points of men Sanda athletes wouldimprove Immunoglobulin G and Immunoglobulin A in serum, and enhance immunityof participants to some extent.
