Research On Problem Of The Conflict Between Moral Awareness And Behavior For College Students In Moral Practice

Moral education, as an important part of ideological and political education incolleges and universities, plays a very important role in shaping the correct outlook onworld, life and values of college students. The purpose of college moral education is tocultivate college students with “good knowledge, good behavior”, which is not only toimprove students’ moral awareness, but to guide them the correct moral behavior.However, the current college moral education effectiveness is insufficient, coupled withthe factors of college students themselves and the environment, the problem of theconflict between moral awareness and behavior in moral practice still exists.Based on the general theory of the conflict between moral awareness and behavior inmoral practice, this thesis analyses the main representations of the problem exist amongcollege students and its causes and eventually explore comprehensive ways to solve thisproblem.This thesis is divided into three parts:The first part introduces the general theory. This part interprets what is “moralawareness” and “moral behavior”, and defined the range of “the conflict between moralawareness and behavior” and “the conflict between moral awareness and behavior inmoral practice for college students”. Then, this part introduces the theoretical basis,including Marxism theory about the relationship between knowledge and practice, thetheory about the relation between internalization and externalization in ideological andpolitical education and the formation and development theory of moral mental process.The second part analyses the problem concretely. It firstly analyses the mainrepresentations of the problem, including “knows but not to behave”,“knows but tobehave wrong” and “behave but not really know”. Then, this part analyzes the causes ofthe problem from the factors of college students themselves, the college moral educationand the environment.The third part, on the basis of the first two parts, puts forward ways to solve theproblem, and eventually led to the unity between moral awareness and behavior in moralpractice for college students. The first one is college students seek self-improvementmethods on their own initiative to improve their moral quality. The second one iscolleges and universities actively optimize moral education to promote college studentsdevelop harmoniously in moral awareness, moral affection, moral will and moral behavior. The third one is to build favorable moral education environment to achieve thegoal of the unity between moral awareness and behavior in moral practice for collegestudents.
