The enrollment expansion of universities beginning in the1990s made higher education of China which had developed unprecedentedly move towards the popularization stage. However, the awkward situation the graduators of "Volume production" confronting when entering society caused the question and concerns about higher education quality from educational circles and the whole society. It also caused the attention from the universities themselves. And so the teaching supervision was born in universities. Teaching is the central link of school education. As the backbone of the teaching task, the professional quality of young teachers is directly related to the higher education quality. On the basis of theoretical analysis, this research takes young teachers of XJ University in Guangxi as the object, study the influence of the teaching supervision to each dimension of young teachers’professional development, analyzes the causes, and then, basing on the empirical investigation, puts forward the suggestions of improving teaching supervision to promote young teachers’ professional development. This research mainly consists of four parts.The first part defines the concepts of this research, arranges the studies on the teaching supervision and teacher’s professional development at home and abroad, and makes sure the research purpose, significance, ideas, methods and the innovations of this study.The second part is the theoretical analysis of this study. This part expounds P. Burden’s three stages theory of teacher’s development and analyzes the structure of teacher’s professional quality. It introduces the present situation of teaching supervision in our country and the meaning of teaching supervision for young teachers’ professional development theoretically. The third part is the empirical investigation. Taking young teachers of XJ University in Guangxi as the object, this study investigates the influence of the teaching supervision to each dimension of the young teachers’ professional development and analyzes the causes. It also analyzes the different influences among young teachers in different stages, and summarizes overall evaluations and expectations of young teachers to teaching supervision.The fourth part summarizes the survey results and basing on the empirical investigation, puts forward some suggestions for improving teaching supervision:1. Build the two levels supervision system between University and college and implement "tutorial institution".2. Enrich the forms of teaching supervision, and build a good learning platform for teachers.3. Strengthen the construction of the supervision team and optimize personal quality of the supervisors.
