In order to gain the purpose of “better and more economical”, most of schools still adoptexam-oriented education and focus on the results of the examination and ranking. The aim ofthe courses aim is to test students’ memory, which will seriously affect the development ofstudents. In order to improve this situation, now many educators have a discussion and raisea concept of experiential learning. It will recover dominant position of students, let themdevoting themselves into their studies.Experiential learning changes the tradition mode of students listen to what the teacherssay, let students think by themselves based on their own situation and achieve masterythrough a comprehensive study for knowledge through their own observation, experiment,feeling and thinking.This paper mainly discusses the feasibility and necessity of experiential learning basedon the basic theoretical basis of Piaget’s constructivism theory, situated cognition theory andBruner’s discovery learning, combining with the understanding of knowledge-based view. Theidea of experiential learning has specific background and decades of history, and it isrewarded by lots of people because there is essential difference between this idea andreception learning. Therefore it is more suitable for students who are in the stage ofdevelopment of body and mind. Physics is the result of nature, observation and experimentare important ways to study physics, so this character determines it is suitable to adopt theexperiential learning to study it.There are many application of experiential learning in physics or, it can also be saidthat we can experience from physical knowledge itself in many ways. This paper startsresearch mainly from the aspects of the physical experience type, experience meaning,experience strategies, experience process and spread this idea into the whole physics. Byusing junior middle school’s atmospheric pressure teaching course as an example, this paperhas in-depth and detailed analysis in specific case of physics course teaching and specific theteaching processes by the way of experiential learning.I believe that through experiential learning, it will help students change previous studyhabits of physics, form their own unique knowledge system when they contact physics, and itwill also helpful for students to find themselves and achieve self-development constantly.
