The popularize and implement in quality education and new curriculum reform has changed traditionalteaching philosophy and turned the trend which teacher pay much attention to teach knowledge to theoriginal intention of education, which is educate people. The education task in political course in highschool includes not only basic theory education, the ideological and moral education, but the education onabilities and mentality. Self-confidence, being an important individual psychological diathesis, is necessaryfor high school student and even lays foundation for achieving the great renaissance of the Chinese Nationas well as China Dream. However, in the background of economic globalization, Chinese especially thehigh school student show insufficient self-confidence as a result of some problems come from the social,the school, the family, the personal and so on. The stable and changeable character within theself-confidence and the strong plasticity on the growing student makes it possible for high school studentdeveloping their confidence.A survey shows that the teachers do not have enough knowledge and successful examples to learnabout self-confidence. And some problems including teaching philosophy, relationship between teachersand students, the teaching method and the teaching evaluation limit the development of self-confidence.The special position and meaning of political course means the duty and mission on training theself-confidence of high school student. Besides, the course has its original advantages in trainingself-confidence in terms with education goal, education content and education form. Though cultivatingself-confidence is significant, it is difficult for school setting up special course to do it. Thus, instilling thisconcept in the process of teaching can be an efficient way. This article tries to use method of historicaldocument, questionnaire survey method, interviewing, integrates the figure of political course with thefigure of high school student, and discusses how to develop the self-confidence by using the self-advantageof this course.The article links theory with teaching experience, inducing that there are several ways trainingself-confidence and gives some detailed introduction. They are auto suggestion, give lecture before class,model encouragement, emotional edification, cooperation and practice and individual guidance. What’s more, the article attempts to offer other efficient ways such as combination of teaching in class withoutdoor activities, the teaching content with political affairs, collective education with individual educationand the combination of teaching with self-education.As my ability is limited, practical time is short and investigate target is lack of reference, my researchworth further discussion. But I hope the research which aiming at developing confidence according to thefigure of political course in high school can contribute to the research’s expand and deepen in special filed.
