The ultimate purpose of scientific research about elderly people is to improve thequality of their life, so the elderly people can share the social welfare, improve andenhance the quality of their life,this has become a symbol of social progress. With thepeople’s life way changing and aggravation of aged population, it becomes a publicissue of worldwide concern to look for an economical, convenient and acceptable waywhich can delay the ageing society and enhance the life quality of elderly people.Scientific and reasonable exercises have become one of the main measures toimprove the quality of life all over the world, accordingly some scholars raise a word“light sport “especially for elderly people, Light Sport is a kind of exercises which haslow sports load, low technical requirement and flexible time requirement, its corephilosophy is multi-occasional, multi-functional sport at any time, emphasizing easeand pleasure.This study investigated the elderly people in Zheng Zhou city, Henan province byusing research methods of Literature, questionnaire survey, mathematical statistics andlogical analysis etc, findings and conclusions are as follows:(1)64.11%and45.12%of the elderly people choose fitness dance and tai chi astheir exercise program;56.46%of the elderly people exercise in parks and plazas; theprimary motivation of59.89%of the elderly people is to prevent and cure diseases,secondly is to be fit and healthy and psychological adjustment;55.14%of the elderlyhave their fitness activities with friends.(2)The exercise duration of84.7%elderly people engaged in light exercise ismore than30minutes;59.37%of the elderly choose low intensity exercises;91.59%ofthe elderly exercise at least3times a week.66.49%of older people engaged in lightphysical activity level is moderate sports exercise, and there are significant differencesin gender and education. Exercise intensity of the elderly men is higher than elderlywomen while the exercise duration and frequency is lower than elderly women.(3)The life quality of elderly people who engaged in light physical exercise isbetter than the elderly people who don’t do light physical exercise. Education determines that the elderly people can have more scientific and reasonablearrangements for physical exercise and draw up the exercise prescription, therefore, thehigher the degree, the better the quality of life of older people.(4)Life quality of the older people has significant differences in exerciseduration, exercise intensity, exercise frequency and amount of exercise. Judging fromthe exercise duration, the elderly people who do exercises for more than60minuteshave the best life quality. Judging from the exercise frequency, the elderly people whohave exercise frequency at3-5times/week, have the best quality of life. From point ofview of the exercise intensity, moderate-intensity exercise will make elderly peoplehave the best life quality. From point of view of the exercise amount,Who havemoderate exercise will have the best life quality.(5) Life quality of the elderly people has moderate Positive correlation with thescore of Light physical exercise...
