| In this study, the elderly people is the research object. By the World Health Organization Quality of Life Scale-BREF (WHOQOL-BREF) and the Elderly Spiritual Faiths Questionnaire, study on the general characteristics about the spiritual faiths of the elderly, the overall quality of life characteristics among the elderly, difference in variable of demography and correlation between them. The present study not only help to explore the present situation of their spirituality faiths and the quality of life, but also provide a theoretical basis and practical measures for the issue of aging services in our country.The Elderly Spiritual Faiths questionnaire contains the supernatural faith, social faith, ethical faith and pragmatistic faith. WHOQOL-BREF is divided into four domains:physical domain, psychological domain, social relationships and environmental area.The results showed that:(1) Spiritual faiths of the elderly is divided into four dimensions:the supernatural faith, social faith, ethical faith and pragmatistic faith; The questionnaire includes 30 questions, this inventory proved a comparatively higher reliability and validity.(2) On the whole, social faith is dominant, then ethical faith, followed by another is pragmatistic faith, and finally is the supernatural faith. The mainstream of the elderly people's spiritual faiths is healthy and a positive.(3) Significant differences of the elderly people's spiritual faiths were found in gender, political feature, place of residence, number of children, level of education and profession.(4) The overall quality of life of the elderly people is better than the average, in which the physical domain is the best, followed by the psychological domain, then the social relationships, the satisfaction of the environmental area is the poorest.(5) The quality of life of the elderly has a significant difference among political feature, number of children, job and age.(6) The social faith of the elderly is significantly positive correlative with physical area, psychological area, social relationships and environmental area in the satisfaction of quality of life, the correlation between the ethical faiths and the satisfaction of the quality of life in environmental area is significant positively, other dimensions of spiritual faiths shows no significant correlation with the satisfaction in all areas of quality of life.(7) The social faith of the elderly is significantly positive predicator of the satisfaction in physical domain, psychological domain, social relationships and environmental area of quality of life. |
