Table tennis is popular with all ages people in China, referred to as the "nationalsport" of our country. Table tennis basic technology easy to learn, interesting, simpleorganizational form, activity but can small, can achieve physical exercise, enhancedphysique. Extensive mass base to determine the also popular among the students incolleges and universities, nowadays, table tennis project has become the most popularcourses of school physical education in colleges. However, to make the studentsmaster more specification, system of table tennis technique and theory of knowledgeis not easy, according to the table tennis learning cycle is long, to fit high difficult,basic requirements, etc. Apply the participatory teaching in the university table tennisteaching process, make students to experience the real subject of classroom learning,master feeling, good feeling experience enables students to actively participate inclassroom teaching activity, participation in improving table tennis skills and tacticsability and levels of knowledge about table tennis theory.This paper uses the experimental method, literature method, questionnairesurvey method, mathematical statistics and logical analysis, on the class of2012inzhengzhou normal university for18weeks of physical education major students in theexperimental study, the subjects were divided into experimental group (subject toparticipate in group) and control group, by use of main body participation teachingmethod, theory with practice, the basic technical level of students, learning interest,learning motivation, achievement motivation scores of aspects such as mathematicalstatistics, statistical analysis of data, the following results:(1) By means of the experimental group and the control group students inphysical education learning interest test questionnaire investigation, according to theresults of the experimental group and the control group there were significantdifferences, illustrate the main body participation teaching model can help improvethe students’ interest in learning table tennis. (2) Through a test to the experimental group and the control group students inthe learning motivation questionnaire investigation, according to the results of theexperimental group and the control group there were significant differences, showsthat main body participation teaching mode compared with the traditional teachingcan better stimulate students’ table tennis learning motivation.(3)By means of the experimental group and the control group students inachievement motivation test questionnaire investigation, according to the results ofthe experimental group and the control group there were significant differences,shows that main body participation teaching mode can improve the students’achievement motivation, make students form positive upward, the pursuit ofsuccessful state of mind.(4) After the experiment, through the experimental group and control group inthe table tennis teaching effect evaluation measurement, according to the results ofthe experimental group and control group, experimental group in the performanceevaluation on the four dimensions were superior to control group, the implementationmain body participation teaching method in table tennis teaching more effectivelyimprove the teaching effect, to better achieve the teaching goal.(5) Through the test of table tennis basic technical level, it is concluded that theexperimental group and control group before the experiment and the experiment hassignificant difference, and the experimental group is higher than the control group,suggests that use of main body participation teaching method can improve the level ofbasic technology table tennis.(6) On the examination of the experimental group and the control group used thesame set of test paper test, the results show that significant difference exists amongthe experimental group and the control group, experimental group theoryachievement is better than that of control group, shows that main body participationteaching method can promote students to better learning table tennis theoryknowledge.
