The purpose of education is to teach students how to learn. Could learning ability be taught byteachers? Because that teaching and learning is a two-way street, the students’ autonomous learning andactive exploring play an important role in it. How to make students autonomously learn and activelyexplore? On the basis of the research literature, i analyze the current situation of teaching in middle schoolphysical education. I believe that teachers can motivate students to learn through a variety of teachingapproaches. This article studies these aspects in physics teaching process: in the secondary education howto use "incentive strategy" to develop students’ self-learning ability; how to properly use reasonableincentive strategies to stimulate students’ motivation to learn, maintain the enthusiasm of students andimprove students’ self-learning capacity. This study includes the following aspects:1, Background on the research and current status of physical teaching at high school were analyzed inthis article;2, The feasibility of motivational strategies to develop students’ self-learning ability was studied;3, Methodological approach of training strategy, how to encourage self-learning ability in teachingactivities, was analyzed;4, Teaching practice of using incentive strategies develop self-learning ability was studied in thisarticle.This study puts forward three following opinions: First, it is more important for students to learnlearning independently and explore actively than to teach students to learn knowledge. In order toencourage students to actively participate in the study, teachers must use some teaching strategies in theprocess of teaching, and incentive strategy can make students actively involved in the study very well.Second, the use of incentive strategy should be based on some effective theories, and these theories canbecome action guidelines of our education teaching guidance. Third, in the middle school physicaleducation teaching, under reasonable conditions, incentive strategies can be used and achieved well results.
