A Study On Parental Education Quality Of Urban Primary/Middle Students’and Social Work Intervention Strategies:

Family education is the most important mission of modern family and the beginning of human education. As the children’s first teachers, parents exert a comprehensive, profound and lasting impact on their children. More and more attentions have been paid to the parental education quality, which is regarded as the key factor affecting the success or failure of family education. With the great changes of social environment and increasingly tough competition, the modern urban families are facing incredibly heavy pressures and challenges. Therefore, the parental education quality must keep pace with the times and adapt to the newest situations and requirements.The topic of this paper is the present situation of urban primary and middle school students’parents’education quality. Taking some parents from the S community in Jinan as research subjects, the author managed to collect data through the long interview. According to analyzing these data, the researcher conceptualizes the present situation and mainly problems in modern urban school students’parental education quality from aspects of education concept, method and ability. The problems mentioned above are backward education concepts, simple and rude education methods, weak education ability and the great gap between ideal and reality. From the perspective of the ecosystem theory, the researcher examines the related reasons from three systems and four levels:microscopic system, mesoscopic system (including intermediate system and outer system), and macroscopic system.Parental education, which aims at helping parents to play effective modern parents roles, has made positive effects in promoting parental education quality and improving parent-child relationship, and a series of problems as well. Meanwhile, combined professional ethical values with systematic methods and integrated theory system, social work has excellent advantages in intervention in parental education. Thus, the researcher tries to make some helpful exploration in this topic.
