Since left-behind children in rural areas are the product of China’s modern urbanization process,the grandparents mainly assume their responsibility of the education in the current rural environment.Due to the factors of ideology,cultural accomplishment and life experience,the left-behind children in the key stage of growth are not taken care of by grandparents,and the absence of parents makes it difficult for them to develop sound personality and good habits.Parental education indirectly helps left-behind children to obtain healthy and scientific family education by improving the family education efficiency of grandparents in rural areas,so as to effectively prevent their character defects and violent behaviors.With the support of professional theories of social work,this research adopts the method of in-depth interview and participatory observation to conduct household investigation on 15 families of left-behind children in D Village,Shaanxi Province,then collects data from six aspects of discipline style,emotion and behavior management,communication between grandparents and grandchildren,psychological attention to grandchildren,learning approaches of parental education and content requirements of parental education.Based on the accurate understanding of the family parental education status of left-behind children in D Village,it uses case work method to carry out practical intervention in families of F4left-behind children in need of parental education.It helps grandparents of F4 families to review their educational concepts,recognize the blind spots in education,and master scientific parenting methods and skills,so as to create a good family education environment for left-behind children with healthy growth.By intervening in the practice of parental education through case intervention,the grandparents in rural areas have changed their parenting concepts,acquired the knowledge and skills of scientific discipline to their grandchildren,also can consciously control their own emotions and unreasonable behaviors.It has proved that case work has good applicability and effectiveness in improving the level of family parental education of left-behind children.Meanwhile,social workers need to link social resources for the families of left-behind children in rural areas,help grandparents to get support from various forces in the process of raising their grandchildren.
