With the promotion of the new round of the education curriculumreforms, the history classes in middle schools see new requirements which requireteachers to employ and create new teaching methods and skills. The CompulsoryEducation History Curriculum standard (2011) requires history teachers middle schoolsuse multiple teaching methods and skills and break the “teacher-predominant” principleof teaching. What’s more, teachers should actively promote the interaction betweenteachers and students, students and students, students and books, and adjust the classatmosphere, thus stimulate students’ enthusiasm and initiative.The situational teaching studied in this article is a wide-used and successful in-classteaching mode in recent curriculum reforms---that is, during the class, the teacheractively creates the teaching background and naturally guides students to experienceand think under the background. However, the originality of this article is to combinedthe recent tourism element with the historical situational teaching. Tourism is an action,a image as well as a brand which has different understandings. In the history class,teachers can inject the impression of students’ understanding of tourism into thehistorical situational teaching, and further enhance students’ interests in history andencourage students to learn history and think about history in their own way.This article consists of five parts. The first part focuses on the research andintrospection of the historical situational teaching at home and abroad; the second partmainly discusses the employment of situational teaching in middle schools’ historyclasses; the third part is the introduction of the tourism elements, that is the historicalsituational teaching methods taking tourism as its clue, which including the definition,features and approaches; the forth part analyzes the demonstration, using the methods ofstudents group discussion and role play; the fifth part reflects this new teaching styleand makes a solid conclusion about the whole research...
