Situational teaching refers to a scene or an atmosphere of true, vividness, concreteness, image and properness that the teacher creates intentionally to inspire the students’ attitude and behavioral experience as well as to active their situation thinking.Combining with the practice cases of history teaching, this paper explores the multi-connotation of situated history teaching in junior middle school. The essay mainly state in the following aspects:the meaning, origin and current situation of situational teaching; its significance and superiority; the premise, practice and personal experience of situational history teaching in junior middle school. As a teaching method of relative vigorous and effective, this paper concludes that situational teaching should be used widely and explored continuously. In the meantime, we must examine and rethought the previous traditional history teaching methods.Under the new curriculum reform, it is extremely urgent to establish the situational history teaching which is content-based, objective-oriented, and furthermore, teacher as the leading and students as the protagonist.
