The learning situation in mathematics for junior middle school students, especially for those in lower grades in weak schools is very worrying, which mainlydisplays in learning without a goal or plan, learning passively, lack of self-discipline,diligence, interest and strong mind, etc. How to stimulate the study motive of thesestudents in class, and improve their academic performances is a main concern for amath teacher. Aimed at this situation, timely feedback of tests is put forward. Itsessence is to provide the basis and platform for students to set the following feasiblegoals. It’s designed to fully exert timely feedback of tests as teaching method andstimulate each student’s learning motivation to a greater extent and improve theiracademic performances.Compared the math academic performances and learning motivation incomparative classes implementing traditional feedback with those in experimentalclasses implementing timely feedback, the author explored the influence of timelyfeedback of tests on the mathematics study of junior high school students. In this article, two sets of questionnaire, the baseline test and the final test areadopted for the students in comparative classes and experimental classes in twodifferent stages. The result analysis indicates that:1, the concrete and easy to be obtained dynamic goals set according to thetimely feedback of tests can stimulate students’ sustainable learning motivation;2, compared with traditional feedback, timely feedback of tests can improvestudents’ academic performances in lower grades of junior high school.3, compared with traditional feedback, timely feedback of tests has a significantpositive impact on students’ learning state including learning motivation, learningmethod, learning enthusiasm, etc.According to the above analysis, teaching suggestions are put forward asfollows:1. Renew the ideas and pay attention to the students poor at math;2. Implementing lamination teaching method; 3. Strengthen the instruction and guidance to individual student;4. Guide the students’ positive attribution5. Improve the teaching of comments on test papers.
