Social Group Work On The Cognitive Change Of Military Veterans

Retired military cadres should be paid more attention as special aged group under the background of population aging. The group have devoted their youth even the whole life to national independence and prosperity. Their experiences can not be imaged and experienced by us young generation, meanwhile, they deserve our respect. Therefore, to let them spend remaining days happily, support treasure sense of security, health, worthiness, knowledge, happiness and guidance after retire is obligation and responsibility of the country and society.The aged demand more as development of society and economy. Retired military services station sets up a new working direction and target of "spend remaining days happily" from "spend remaining days in comfort" during practice period. It is appreciated to satisfy retired military cadres’demand through social service to accomplish transform from "comfort" to "happiness".The study is based on group work under Cognitive Behavioral Theory and Strengths Perspective with observation method and interview method of social investigation to know opinions and expect on current life of retired military cadres. Six group activities are arranged to explore resources in life together with served people to improve their confidence and build up Self-help and mutual assistance concept. This may exert main function of retired military cadres to retired adaption and subjective initiative into full play and enjoy retired life better.lt does have affected group members step by step although we meet some troubles during the practice and some weakness still existing in the study. Endowment opinions of some members prefer self help and adapt to transform of military retired service. It is helpful to build harmonious military retired construction that these members become more understandable to working staff’s behavior through the activity which improves some relations between retired military cadres and service people.
